Trambak Yesekar

Senior backend engineer building lending platforms that stay up.

I have 4.5 years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices and AWS in FinTech. I built a lending platform that handles 1,000+ loan applications a month for 30,000+ active customers, and moved its services to a multi-region disaster recovery setup with a recovery time under 30 minutes.

The microservices architecture I work in

CRM UIemployees manage cases Customer portalcustomers add their profile data Employee orchestration serviceexposed APIs, drives case journeys Customer orchestration serviceexposed APIs, drives data collection Loan serviceSpring Boot, JPA Verification serviceaccount aggregation Payment serviceNACH auto-debit, SSL Notification serviceemail, SMS, WhatsApp PostgreSQL in every service, MongoDB in someindexing and server-side pagination for performance Dashed box: processes work asynchronously through AWS SQS (payments and notifications)

I build and maintain the transactional services, add asynchronous processing with SQS where a request should not wait, and help run the platform on AWS with multi-region disaster recovery, Redis for sessions, and Jenkins, Docker and SonarQube for delivery.

Experience

Senior Software Engineer II, Backend Engineering

Bajaj Finserv Direct Limited, Pune, India. May 2022 to present

Vridhi Home Finance, Phase II

  • Led a team of four engineers and served as technical point of contact, resolving blockers and enabling feature releases.
  • Migrated all backend services to a multi-region disaster recovery environment built with the DevOps team, resolving cross-region dependency issues to meet a recovery time objective under 30 minutes.
  • Migrated and tested services in an isolated staging environment for vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT), supporting remediation of all critical API vulnerabilities found.
  • Took on full-stack ownership as the team reduced to four engineers, building Angular frontend services alongside backend work, with GitHub Copilot support.
  • Wrote Python scripts for bulk data processing and monitored production services with AWS CloudWatch.

Vridhi Home Finance, Phase I

  • Built a Java and Spring Boot lending microservice that processes 1,000+ loan applications per month.
  • Decoupled services with asynchronous messaging on AWS SQS, improving API response time.
  • Added database indexing and server-side pagination, reducing database and server processing load.
  • Tuned AWS compute and Auto Scaling configurations to reliably serve 30,000+ active customers.
  • Implemented SSL-encrypted National Automated Clearing House (NACH) auto-debit payment integrations.
  • Developed real-time Account Aggregation verification starters, improving validation and lookup efficiency.
  • Automated loan workflows with Activiti and BPMN, managed application sessions in Redis, and ran the email, SMS and WhatsApp notification service with Hystrix retries.

Ambit Finvest

  • Developed high-concurrency RESTful transactional APIs with multi-stage CI/CD pipelines, accelerating feature delivery.
  • Created reusable Spring Boot starters and shared vendor libraries, cutting developer onboarding time by 40% (10 days to 6 days).
  • Built a database-driven vendor registry keyed by channel name, so vendors can be added or switched per client through configuration, with no code changes.
  • Raised unit test coverage from 60% to 85% with JUnit and Mockito.

Before this: 2014 to 2021, full-time preparation for competitive government exams, then retraining through the C-DAC PG Diploma (2021 to 2022).

Problems I solved

Slow API responses

Moved long-running work to asynchronous messaging on AWS SQS so services no longer wait on each other.

Faster API response time

Heavy database load

Added indexes and server-side pagination to the queries behind the busiest screens.

Lower database and server load

Surviving a regional outage

Migrated every backend service to a multi-region disaster recovery setup with the DevOps team, and fixed cross-region dependencies.

Recovery time under 30 minutes

Slow onboarding and vendor changes

Built reusable Spring Boot starters, shared vendor libraries and a configuration-driven vendor registry.

Onboarding cut from 10 to 6 days; new vendors need no code changes

Fragile code

Wrote unit tests with JUnit and Mockito and tracked quality with SonarQube.

Test coverage from 60% to 85%

Security findings

Set up an isolated staging environment for penetration testing and helped fix the vulnerabilities found.
